FitGrit Charge 6 on the Honest Hill

Carl’s rating: 7.5 / 10 honest steps

The FitGrit Charge 6 wants to be your coach, therapist, and aunt who texts about hydration. I wore it through the Prairie Dog sectional course — same honest hill, same FFA mist bottles, same Finn Fox kick that made cinnamon rolls forgettable.

The good: Heart-rate tracking matched my subjective suffering within reason. GPS plot of the 5K looked like the course map, not modern art. Band dried fast after the water station splash fight; buckle didn’t pinch when wrists swell in heat.

The fuss: “Stress score” spiked during the starting gun and again when someone mentioned daylight saving — accurate, unhelpful. Subscription nags for premium sleep charts; I sleep fine without bar graphs, thank you.

Verdict: Solid tracker for runners, walkers, and booster parents who pace sidelines. Skip the monthly coaching upsell unless you enjoy being graded while napping.
